New Technology Strategy Department
The New Technology Strategy Department is working on product development in new technological fields for our company, with the slogan “Creating original value through technological fusion and opening up new markets.”
In our development activities, we place emphasis on both future technological seeds and customer needs, and we are persistently working on hypothesis verification activities. We also work with the Sales Department to create synergy in customer creation.
Current themes include electronic component materials, electronics materials, and sustainable materials. In particular, we are focusing on cellulose, which is abundant in nature, and are developing high-performance materials that make effective use of it.
We are always challenging ourselves with new technologies, and aim to contribute to people and society by developing products with unique features that are unique to our company.
Research and Development Department
By combining core technologies such as urethane acrylate and solution polymerization polymer synthesis with new technologies such as low metal content, we develop unique, high-added-value materials that can contribute to society by solving our customers’ problems.
We also develop various seeds to uncover our customers’ potential needs. Even if the problem is the same, each customer has a different approach, so the physical properties required are often completely different. Therefore, it is necessary to propose the most suitable substance for the customer. What is important here is how original the proposal can be. Having many seeds allows us to have the ability to make proposals that suit our customers’ needs, which ultimately leads to incorporating their needs.
Manufacturing Technology Department
As part of the R&D division, the Manufacturing Technology Department is involved in the development of our main product, NK Ester, and is also working to improve the quality of existing products. In other words, it is a department that combines “offense” and “defense.”
As part of our development activities, which have been ongoing for several years, we have been exploring new manufacturing techniques and building distillation techniques to refine our products, and these efforts are beginning to bear fruit.
In addition, with environmental issues receiving much attention in recent years, we are working to reduce waste, which is an important issue for us. We will work to shift to more sustainable manufacturing methods from the development stage onwards.
Life Sciences Team
Recent trends in the chemical industry, as reported in newspapers, on television and online, include responding to the increasing demand for semiconductor materials, taking on the challenge of decarbonization, and focusing on the life sciences field. Our company is also making similar moves, and our life sciences team is currently developing the following products.
- Oligopeptides as raw materials for cosmetics
- Compounds that serve as raw materials for diagnostic testing agents
- Development of (meth)acrylate monomers and oligomers for dental materials
Of these, research and development for 1 and 2 is carried out in a rented room within the Osaka Industrial Technology Research Institute.
We are working hard every day to develop a group of products that will be the pillars that support our company’s future.
